Physics! - vLK - 02-27-2010 12:52 PM Alright, so physics (lava, water and deflood which follows the same rules) is on the way. It'll probably take a while before this is stable (as with the rest of the server... ). They will all have different timers. Just like on vanilla where lava is slightly slower, and deflood (in sponge form) is instant. All credits go to calzoneman/DOC who wrote this for us, it's much appreciated!
RE: Physics! - Varriount - 02-27-2010 02:15 PM I can't wait for this to come! Physic gloroius physics! Just one question though, will the still water that we have placed before now flood again when this update is in place? RE: Physics! - Unison - 02-27-2010 02:22 PM The simple answer is yes. If physics-enabled materials can be separate from their still counterparts, then no. Also, if we can code finite water rather than infinite, it would fall to the ground, however would not flood the entire map. RE: Physics! - vLK - 02-27-2010 03:27 PM "Building water" will become "still water". If theres any "normal water" on the map it will be sensitive to physics. RE: Physics! - Unison - 02-27-2010 04:07 PM That would render "building" materials incompatible with /dense. Flowing water can be dense, and building water cannot? Edit: Never mind this, I think it would work fine
RE: Physics! - ADW - 02-28-2010 06:32 PM Excellent! Looking forward to this immensely. Any need for a beta tester? haha! RE: Physics! - vLK - 03-01-2010 12:58 AM Yeah, we'll need betatesting, but I won't release any physics before I feel we've gotten it to work properly with the rest of the server. It's taking more time than expected though, I started on some large rewriting yesterday, that isn't working at all yet, but I can't afford to lose it either.. RE: Physics! - dagamer - 03-01-2010 07:25 PM OI! IM THE BETA TESTER! >:C RE: Physics! - Varriount - 03-03-2010 09:41 PM I would love to be a beta tester too! Plus, I have three little siblings, so we can test physics indepth quickly.[/b] RE: Physics! - ziek1526 - 03-05-2010 03:59 AM If I can help testing in any way please let me know. I would love to add to the cause. RE: Physics! - Varriount - 03-10-2010 08:52 AM So whats the status on this to be exact? Is it on hiatus, abandoned, or just... somewhere? RE: Physics! - dagamer - 03-10-2010 06:12 PM its not a priority so PLEASE REMAIN CALM |
